Age Groupings for Saturday Netball
Below is a guide we use when signing players on and allocating them into teams.
Players turning 5, 6 & 7
They will play Net Set Go (30min drills & skills + 2x10min halves)
NOTE:- Players CANNOT play up.
Players turning 8 & 9
Are able to play in the same team.
They will play the Modified Game (20min drills & skills + 4x10min quarters).
Players turning 9 CAN NOT play up into the 10s.
Players turning 10
Must play in the 10 year age group – they CAN NOT play up in the 11s.
They will play the Modified Game – 4 x 10 min quarters (full rules will apply after 4 weeks of grading & learning) – Throughout 4 weeks of grading they will do 20 mins drills & skills + 4x10min quarters to learn full rules.
Players turning 11
Will play first year of competition – full rules apply.
Are able to play up ONE year in the 12s if they have the skill level
Players turning 12
Are able to play up ONE year in the 13s if they have the skill level.
Players turning 13
Are able to play up ONE year in the 14s if they have the skill level.
Players turning 14 & 15
Junior Intermediate Division
Players turning 16 & 17
Are eligible to play in the Senior Intermediate Division
Please grade players into teams according to their skill level.
OPEN LADIES
The open ladies teams should be made up of players turning 18 or over.
Teams can have players turning minimum of 15 years of age in their teams
It is NOT encouraged to have young players in the Open division unless they are up to this standard both physically and mentally.
